Hydrogen is considered a key building block for the transformation of industry and energy systems. However, as the technology becomes more widespread, the demand for qualified professionals is also growing —and with it, the question of how to convey complex knowledge in a way that is understandable, practical, and flexible.
Learning should become more interactive
A training needs analysis conducted by Move Technology shows that learners have varying levels of prior knowledge and different goals. The specific hydrogen-related knowledge required depends on the individual’s role and field of work. The company conducted the analysis in the fall of 2025. It included an online survey, workshops, and discussions with experts.
Furthermore, traditional training formats could not always be easily integrated into the daily work routine. Move Technology concludes that learning must become more digital, interactive, and motivating. It should also be more closely aligned with the ways people absorb and process information today.

HYDROGENGALAXY Combines Learning with Gamification
This is where the company’s HYDROGENGALAXY comes in: The digital learning platform combines specialized content on hydrogen with gamified elements. The goal is not only to provide knowledge, but to present it in a way that makes it easier to understand, apply, and build upon step by step.
Specifically, the platform uses missions, storytelling, progress indicators, and direct feedback. Individual tasks are designed to provide guidance, while subject-matter content is embedded in scenarios. Users can track their own learning progress at any time. Badges and achieved milestones indicate which skills have already been developed. Artificial intelligence is used, for example, in the form of personalized learning paths or content customization.
According to Move Technology, these mechanisms help make complex topics more accessible, maintain motivation over longer learning periods, and address a variety of learning needs. The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) and through tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.

Learning platform to launch in October in a pilot phase
To further develop its gamified approach, Move Technology will be exhibiting at this year’s Gamescom—one of the world’s largest trade shows for consumer electronics, video games, and computer games. The company plans to showcase the platform there. Insights into established mechanics, user guidance, storytelling, and interaction will then be incorporated into the further development of the learning platform.
Starting in October, the company plans to launch the pilot phase of HYDROGENGALAXY. At that time, interested companies and users will be able to test the platform and contribute their feedback to its further development.
