Hydrogen Systems for Decentralized Energy and Emergency Power Supply Unveiled

On April 15, the mechanical engineering company H2 Powercell GmbH presented its product portfolio in the hydrogen sector. Among the technologies featured are the “H2PowerCube”hydrogen fuel cell power plant, the “H2PowerLyzer”PEM electrolyzer, and the “H2SecurePower” cabinet system. These systems can be used by hydrogen refueling stations and municipal grid operators, among others.

The zero-emission all-in-one products are offered as “Made in Germany” and ready-to-use complete systems. They would also be developed in collaboration with the engineering firm BEN-Tec GmbH.

H₂ Fuel Cell Power Plant with Integrated Electrolyzer

The modular, containerized hydrogen fuel cell power plant“H2PowerCube” is available in S, M, or L configurations. It is designed to enable self-sufficient and decentralized energy storage and supply through combined heat and power generation.

Depending on requirements, the “H2PowerLyzer” isintegrated into the PEM electrolyzer. A fuel cell is used for on-site power generation, while a battery storage system helps smooth out peak loads and provides short-term storage.

Emergency Power Supply: Products are capable of black start

When combined with the PEM electrolyzer, the hydrogen fuel cell power plant iscapable of black start and can provide emergency power and heat as an emergency power system.

The“H2SecurePower” fuel cell UPS cabinet technologyis alsointended for use in critical infrastructure to ensure a resilient emergency power supply. The technology is also fail-safe thanks to its “Energy Management System.”

Use in industrial parks andH2 refueling stations

The products could be used by, among others, hydrogen refueling stations as well as renewable energy producers. Additional applications would be available for municipal grid operators, industrial parks, or decentralized microgrids.

A decentralized microgrid is a local grid that integrates combined heat and power plants, renewable energy generation systems, and energy storage systems. These components are linked by software and a bidirectional network for managing and communicating with local consumers.

Ende Oktober präsentiert Purem by Eberspächer beide Lösungen live auf der Hydrogen Technology World Expo in Hamburg.
