Vorwerk Gas Technology will continue to operate the meterQ brand; the Friedberg facility in Hesse will remain in operation, and the team will continue to be available to customers and business partners.
Analysis and Measurement Technology since 2014
Meter-Q Solutions was founded in 2014 and has been developing, manufacturing, and maintaining stationary and mobile measurement and analysis systems for natural gas, hydrogen, and biogas ever since. The systems are used in storage facilities, transmission and distribution networks, and biogas plants.
The range of services includes design, installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance, and related engineering services. Nearly all German grid operators use systems from Friedberg. The acquired business also includes several patents.
One example of this technology is the MGCdirect gas chromatograph. The device uses a specially developed sampling probe that returns unused measurement gas directly to the gas line without the need for a separate bypass. This reduces natural gas emissions compared to conventional process gas chromatographs. At the same time, the device responds more quickly to changes in gas composition.
Gas quality measurement is becoming increasingly important as the grid is being modernized
The transformation of gas networks is placing greater demands on the measurement and analysis of gas composition. The blending of hydrogen, the injection of biomethane, and the conversion of entire network sections require precise analytical and measurement technology.
This is where meterQ’s expertise comes into play. It complements the expertise that Vorwerk Gas Technology has already brought together in the fields of gas and hydrogen technology. The analysis and measurement technology is closely integrated with the plant engineering and services offered by the corporate group. Vorwerk Gas Technology GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE.
